For Inktober 2022, I decided to write my own prompt list. For all 31 days of October, I chose to draw a ghost dressed up in different Halloween costumes.
Why?
This was my first time writing my own list and my first time completing the Inktober challenge on time by the end of the month. Each drawing for Inktober 2022 was done on a blank white greeting card.
I aimed for these drawings to be fun renditions of my iconic ghost symbol. They reflect a simple art style while also capturing the more light-hearted side of Halloween—namely, silly costumes!
I have always loved Halloween. Ever since high school I’ve been trying to complete the Inktober challenge . I often times feel stumped by the official prompt lists which is why this year I’ve chosen to create my own inspiration. Ghosts are one of my favorite icons of Halloween, I have an entire shelf dedicated to ghost artwork, figures, and even candles! It only felt right to use these ghosts as source material for this series of drawings.
While committing to creating a piece of art every day for a month is quite challenging, I look forward to trying again next year with a new set of prompts.
